Is your child turning five by August 31? It’s time to celebrate a major milestone—Kindergarten!
Starting school is such an exciting time for children and their grown-ups. It’s a season of new friendships, discovery, and a lifetime of learning. To make the transition as smooth and joyful as possible, the district is inviting all incoming kindergarten families to join the "Kindergarten Countdown" Pop-Up events!
Join a Pop-Up event Near You!
These events are the perfect, low-pressure way for your child to get comfortable with their new school. No RSVP is needed—just stop by the "Welcome Center" (main office) at your neighborhood school between 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM on the following dates:
- May 18: Naval Avenue Elementary
- May 19: Kitsap Lake Elementary
- May 21: Crownhill Elementary
- May 26: West Hills STEM Academy
- May 28: View Ridge Elementary Arts Academy
- May 29: Armin Jahr Elementary
While you’re there, you can take a tour of the school, meet the friendly staff, and get your questions answered, and get assistance with registration if needed. It’s a wonderful way to ease those "first day jitters" for both you and your little one!

Bremerton offers free, all-day kindergarten at all six neighborhood schools, including specialty programs like Spanish Dual Language at Armin Jahr Elementary and Arts Integration at View Ridge Elementary Arts Academy.
